Quality Assurance

"Quality is not an act, it is a habit" - Aristotle

The management and staff are committed to maintaining and constantly improving the quality of service at Whiteoaks. An important part of our approach to quality assurance is obtaining the views and opinions of everyone involved in your care. There are many ways in which we do this:

  • Monthly newsletters to families informing them of what is happening at Whiteoaks and inviting them to share their thoughts and opinions.
  • Monthly staff meetings to discuss issues regarding the Home and the residents and how to improve the service we provide.
  • Quarterly Resident meetings, to let you make suggestions and comments on how we can improve the service we provide to you.
  • Annual Satisfaction questionnaires to families, GPs, District Nurses, other visiting professionals to ask their opinions on our service.

The management have a saying at Whiteoaks:

“Our door is always open”.

If there is anything that you wish to discuss at anytime, we want you to know that our door is always open and you must feel free to share your thoughts and opinions. We take constructive criticism as an opportunity to improve our service.

Concerns, Complaints and Compliments

The staff and management here at Whiteoaks aim to listen and act on your views and concerns. We actively encourage discussion and action on issues raised before they develop into problems and formal complaints.

We always aim to continually improve our Home. As much as we appreciate any comments to help us to improve the life of our Service users we always welcome positive comments as well and pride ourselves on the many compliments we have received over the years.

Our strict Complaints procedure is inside every service user guide kept in every room as well as a framed copy in the lobby.

Whiteoaks has strict Whistleblowing, Abuse, Aggression and bullying policies in place. Please see our ‘Policies and Procedures’ file.

The management and staff here at Whiteoaks vow to protect Service users’ legal rights and we operate a zero tolerance policy on abuse and bullying.

Whiteoaks Staff

Thank you all for taking such good care of my Aunty Joan in the 14 months she was with you.

I knew she was in safe hands.

Sue

To Maddie, Nanda and all the staff at Whiteoaks.

Thank you all very much for the excellent way that you looked after Dad (Thomas) during his time with you.

We feel very grateful to have found what must be the best residential home in the area.

David & Eve

Dear Maddie and everyone,
Thank you so much for inviting me to lunch with you all on Christmas Day and also to join in the visit from Father Christmas!

I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was so nice to see Tom, all the residents and the staff, enjoying themselves.

I would like to say a special thank you to Dawn for preparing such a lovely meal and to Margaret, Sue and Jacky and anyone else I may have forgotten to mention, for keeping the party going.

I also enjoyed the French Carole singer and the pantomime and I know Tom did. I haven’t seen him laugh so much for years – and he knew all the words of White Christmas!

Then of course, I really would like to thank all the other girls, Maddie and Mr and Mrs Panch for always giving me such a warm welcome whenever I visit Tom and for caring so well for the residents.
It is such a lovely atmosphere in Whiteoaks, summed up I think by one resident saying to me ‘The staff are so kind, I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else’.

Happy New Year to you all.
