In 2017, Mrs Samantha Slack joined the Whiteoaks family as Head of Care, armed with a wealth of experience, having worked in the care industry for over 16 years. Sam’s gentle manner with the residents, her compassion, cooperation with the families and her professionalism with health professionals and staff stood her in good stead to be promoted. After completing her NVQ Level 5 in 2020, Sam took over as Registered Manager from Maddie.

Maddie and Nanda strongly believe in leading by example, and by working closely alongside Sam, the management team continue to take Whiteoaks from strength to strength.

The Staff

The management at Whiteoaks aims for an inclusive, open and positive atmosphere, involving the staff and service users with many aspects of the running of the Home.

We work hard to ensure that we employ experienced, trained staff.

The Home’s staff are selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness, openness, trustworthiness, professionalism and above all their caring attitude.

During recruitment, all potential staff have to undergo a trial shift to ensure their suitability to the Home. They are carefully screened, POVA and DBS checks are made with two references from previous employers.

Most staff have NVQ Levels 2or 3 in Health and Social Care and those who do not are encouraged to undertake the vocational training.
