Moving Into Whiteoaks

When moving into Whiteoaks, there is a one month “trial period”, written into your contract, during which both you and the Home can ensure that this is the right home for you.

All the terms and conditions of the Home are detailed in a contract which is given to you, prior to your admission, for you and your next of kin to peruse and raise any queries that you may have.

Whiteoaks will provide your bedding and towels, all we ask is that you bring your own toiletries, clothing and personal belongings. We politely request that all items of clothing are clearly named. We do also offer a clothes labelling service, if you are unable to do this yourself.

Care Planning

Your care plan provides the basis on which Whiteoaks delivers your care and includes an in depth description of your preferred daily routine, your needs, your likes and dislikes, dietary requirements, risk assessments etc. You are able to access your care plan at any time and encouraged to participate in your care planning process.

At Whiteoaks, we use a digital care planning system, which enables us to log everything, in real time. For example, we log what time you went to bed to which activity you participated in.

The care plan is reviewed regularly to reflect your changing needs. The following information is just some of what is detailed in your care plan:

Health Care

Medical care is provided by a General Practitioner of the resident’s own choice from our local centre, Fareham Centre Practice, who Whiteoaks has an excellent rapport with for over 20 years.

The District Nurses, Community Psychiatric Nurses, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and all other health and remedial agencies, visit Whiteoaks and can provide their services to the residents within the Home.

Therapeutic Services

A range of visiting professionals add to the services and facilities that Whiteoaks offers. Our Home’s hairdresser visits every Wednesday, and the Chiropodist visits every four to six weeks.

In addition the Home offers a visiting beautician and optician. The Home also offers on site laundry service, which is included in the cost of the accommodation.
